Underpinned by our award-winning friendship skills curriculum, Friendology 101, students learn our unique language, skills, and strategies that are central to our whole-school friendship strategy. This includes:
Through role-play and common scenarios, students put their friendship skills to the test and apply their learning.
Fuzzies and Friends (Years 1 & 2)
Through fun role-play with teddy bears, students learn the basics of friendship including The 4 Friendship Facts, qualities of a Green-Zone Friendship, and how to use the Friend-o-Meter to reflect on how they’re feeling in their friendships. Students also practice, step-by-step, how to put out Friendship Fires® by Talking-it-Out.
Heart of Friendship (Years 3 & 4)
Through fun role-play with teddy bears, students explore The 4 Friendship Facts & learn the WWW strategy to get strategic in their friendships. Using the Friend-o-Meter, they reflect on healthy (Green-Zone) and unhealthy (Red-Zone) friendships. Learning the difference between Friendship Fires & Mean-on-Purpose moments, students practise putting out Friendship Fires® by working their way around the Friend-o-Cycle, along with when & how to use a Quick Comeback.
Friendship Fires (Years 5 & 6)
In this workshop, students learn what to expect in their friendships through The 4 Friendship Facts, applying these ‘truths’ in friendship to their real-life. They also learn what trust & respect look like in-action & what happens when mistrust & disrespect seep into a friendship. Using the Friend-o-Meter, students reflect on the health of their friendships & Friendship Groups. They learn how to manage conflict (in-person and online), exploring the different approaches for responding to Friendship Fires® versus Mean-on-Purpose behaviour.
