Through fun role-play with teddy bears, children learn the basics of friendship including the 4 Friendship Facts, qualities of a GREAT friend, and how to use the Friend-o-meter to understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships. We also practice, step-by-step, how to put out Friendship Fires™ by putting a voice to our feelings. Parents learn the URSTRONG lingo, get involved in role-play activities, and come away with strategies to support their children through hurt feelings with friends.
Improving the social climate in schools around the world
URSTRONG is all about empowering kids with friendship skills while providing the adults in their lives, both parents and teachers, with a common language to support them. Kids learn what’s normal in a friendship, the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships and how to stand up for themselves with kid-friendly concepts.
What parents and educators are sharing with us
I felt like you were teaching my child all the things I wanted to teach them about how to be a good friend, but didn’t know how.
URSTRONG’s focus on developing friendship skills and building the resilience of students is EXACTLY what schools need!
Jamie Wahab, Principal
St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School
You’ve given us the tools to help identify what is healthy and what is not and how relationships change and that’s ok.
URSTRONG has enriched and complimented our school values with great language, practices and perspective.
Adrian Torrese, Assistant Principal
Our Lady of the Cape Primary School
The skills we learned are still helping us communicate about friendships over a year later. They will help guide us both in making friendships for the rest of our lives.
URSTONG has not only empowered our students with the life skills to foster healthy relationships, it has also empowered our teachers and parents.
