Have you ever found yourself in a really tricky situation with a friend, when things seem to be going downhill badly and a you just don’t know what to do? Or, maybe you have had your feelings hurt by a friend or have had a fight or disagreement? These are the kind of things that we refer to as Friendship Fires®.
It is normal that, at some point in every friendship, we will have a Friendship Fire®. After all, “No friendship or relationship is perfect”…as you know from our beloved Friendship Fact #1!
However, being in the middle of Friendship Fires® can feel pretty bad and worrying. While it is normal to have disagreements and arguments with friends, it’s important to know you can survive them! When those Fires spark, we need to take steps to put them out – not make them bigger!
We can get better at putting out Friendship Fires® when we practice the skills we use when ‘Talking it Out’ – the most important phase on the Friend-o-cycle.
