Megan is a Teacher, School Counsellor, Art Therapist and Relationship Counsellor. She is passionate about supporting people of all ages to grow and maintain healthy friendships!
Beginning her career as a high school visual arts teacher, Megan taught in NSW schools for 14 years. Student wellbeing was always at the forefront of her teaching practice. The impact of wellbeing on learning was very clear to her, and, as she worked with her students she could see how friendships and relationships directly affected wellbeing! Her interests in wellbeing, positive psychology and positive education led her to develop and implement positive school philosophies and practices in her school and classroom. At this time, she also co-founded Hollyhox Positive Resources, working to produce strengths based resources and share them in workshops, presentations and at conferences both nationally and internationally.
Megan’s interest in strengths based approaches, people and relationships led her to pursue further studies in Art Therapy and Counselling. Megan has a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts), Graduate Diploma in Education, Masters in Art Therapy and a Graduate Diploma (Counselling).
She is currently working as a School Counsellor/Art Therapist in Tasmania and works with students, parents and teachers to support them in their social and emotional wellbeing. She also works as a Family and Relationship Counsellor in Private Practice, supporting adults and children alike to navigate life’s challenges and strengthen their relationships.
When she’s not working, Megan likes to stand up paddleboard, play ukulele, paint pictures, make things and hang out with her friends.
Megan is URSTRONG’s Educational Consultant working very closely with our Founder & CEO to inform and guide our school-based programming. Megan also leads and supports our URSTRONG Schools as they implement and embed Friendology 101 and assists in Teacher Training.
